I never want to leave a review solely based on my subjective opinion... but rather...is the product what it claims to be. Though this is possibly one of the least pleasant smelling fragrances i've ever smelled in my life, it most certainly smells like smoky mezcal and cucumbers lol. I have sprayed this and let it sit for hours to see if the dry down is better, but it still smells exactly like it does fresh out the bottle.

It's a NO for me, but definitely lives up to it's name.

It opens up mild and watery, with notes I have no experience with. As it decays, it becomes smoky, but not harshly so. I don't have much experience with alcohol but I don't doubt that it smells like mezcal. It's good, but doesn't particularly wow me. Maybe I'd be more impressed if I had experience with the inspiration.

I tried it immediately after it arrived and I got nothing but smoke, and had to let it sit for a few weeks. I was under the impression that Dossier gave me bottles that hadn't gone through the aging process, but maybe they just needed to settle after shipping.

I can see why this is divisive. Dossier impressions are based on crowd-pleasing, friendly, designers fragrances. This smells like a niche fragrance. It's odd, it's challenging, most people who put their noses on this have probably never smelled anything like it before in the wearable scents space. Personally, speaking as someone who mostly wears quirky niche fragrances, I LOVE this.

This primarily smells like cade. If you don't know what that is, it is basically the exact photorealistic smell of sitting around a campfire at night with friends. It smells like smoke and burning wood. You might be saying "why would I want to smell like burning wood??" If so, stay away-- or maybe try it anyway, you might be more adventurous than you thought! -- Because trust me, lots of people are into that lol. You're reading one.

Despite the heavy smoke presence, this isn't one-note. The cucumber/green/watery facets in this frag are very present. They're subtle but they balance out the cade and keep it from getting too dirty. This is a really well-blended mix, and it somehow has successfully captured the feeling of drinking a quality mezcal. It's ominous and flirty at the same time. Totally unisex but you have to be cool to wear this. It will get noticed and you need confidence to pull this scent off.

I'm super impressed. I only got into Dossier for a few designer impressions and never thought y'all would put out a niche-level perfume this interesting. Keep up the good work, it is…
